Let’s be real… Everybody loves a good storyteller.

There are certain people who have the ability to transform a seemingly boring chain of events into a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. These people light up the atmosphere surrounding them, and draw in the attention of others.

However, standing up before a crowd and delivering a witty punchline is not the only thing that makes someone a good storyteller.

Looking beyond

As everybody already knows, there is a whole world of books out there. But stories don’t stop at words inked across pages, either.

Have you ever stopped to stare at a painting? Or a photograph? Has a film ever left you speechless? Have you ever replayed a song, because it “spoke” to you?

Artists, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, writers – we tell our stories through our creative outlets. This is how we “speak” to the world and each other, in a universal language of design.

Everyone has a story to tell

I’ve come across incredible storytellers, whose journeys have been halted due to not having the means to “tell” their story the way they’d like to (filmmakers without the necessary gear, for example). But this should not stop you! Because, news flash: your gear doesn’t make you a good storyteller. It’s about the passion burning inside of you! So, if you don’t have a camera, pick up your phone and start recording. Whatever it is – make a plan! Storytelling doesn’t end at filmmaking. It is everywhere. So, start somewhere!

No matter who you are, who you know, what you do, where you come from… there is a story within you. And it’s waiting to be told.

Go and tell it.

Catch you in the next one!
